Clinical Supervisor Endorsement (CS)
Hold SUD Credential
Hold and maintain a reciprocal level IC&RC credential (ADC, AADC, CCJP, CCDP, CCDPD) or a specialty SUD credential in another human services discipline at a master’s level or higher.
10,000 Hours Experience
Complete 10,000 hours of ADC counseling work experience, including 4,000 hours of ADC supervisor experience. 200 hours must be face-to-face supervision (100 hours may be electronic in real time).
Degree Substitution
An Associate’s degree in behavioral science may substitute for 1,000 hours, Bachelor’s for 2,000 hours, and Master’s for 4,000 hours.
30 CS Education Hours
Complete 30 hours of education specific to the Clinical Supervisor (CS) Domains, with a minimum of 5 hours in each domain.

Credential Requirement – Applicant must hold and maintain a reciprocal-level IC&RC credential (ADC, AADC, CCJP, CCDP, CCDPD) or hold a specialty Substance Use Disorder (SUD) credential in another professional discipline in the human services field at a master’s level or higher.
Experience Requirement – 10,000 hours of Alcohol & Drug counseling-specific work experience, including:
4,000 hours of ADC supervisor work experience (this may be included within the 10,000 hours).
200 hours of face-to-face clinical supervision (up to 100 hours may be completed electronically in real time).
Education Requirement – Complete 30 hours of education specific to the Clinical Supervisor (CS) Domains, with a minimum of 5 hours in each domain.
Degree Substitution –
Associate’s degree in behavioral science may substitute for 1,000 hours.
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science may substitute for 2,000 hours.
Master’s degree in behavioral science may substitute for 4,000 hours.
Examination Requirement – Pass the IC&RC Clinical Supervisor Exam
Renewal Requirement - Six (6) hours of continuing education earned every two (2) years. The six hours may be a part of the 40 hours obtained for the ADC, AADC, CCJP, CCDP, or CCDPD recertification.
Residency Requirement - Applicants must live or work at least 51% of the time within the state or jurisdiction. (at time of application & testing)
